Project Brife
This project is an AR globe, type of educational science software, built in mobile platform, which includes information display of each continent around the world, as well as narrative and storytelling elements.
Technical Implementation
As an AR application, plane detection in AR CORE and AR CAMERA are used to detect environment, and with the using of ANIMATOR in unity to achieve the animation control in the object.

Diegetic UI System
One of the characteristics of Augmented Reality is that it is bonded with space, so in terms of information display in this project, a 3D user interface integrated in space is adopted, which is called “Diegetic UI”

As seen in the above GIF, the coordinates of the starting point fit the ground in space, and in terms of the information display of each continent, these UI elements have a relative spatial location to the globe, and these integrated information displays in space also enhance the immersion of the AR medium as well.

Storytelling


As an educational software for children, narrative elements are particularly important. This project tells a story from the perspective of a rocket, with actions such as generation, take-off and surrounding flight.

To get a complete storyline, a spaceship build-launch-disintegrate-reach orbit storyline was designed, and because of the limited space where the story takes place, reverse-moving and falling thrusters were added to simulate the ship's constant "upward motion" situation.
